Our company produces and sells
Japanese green tea of superior quality. Since April 2007 we have started to
sell and ship our high quality tea to many countries around the globe. Superior Japanese Green Tea

Many
of our international customers have inquired about other Japanese quality products
and traditional items. For this reason we have begun in 2008 to include Japanese
crafts and arts that are of superior make. It is our goal to satisfy our customers
with a selection of products that provides the best Japan has to offer.
Maiko
Tea Company was called Fugenji Plantations and it was strictly a wholesale business.
1950
Maiko
Tea began retail sale of tea.
1970
Under
the new name "Maiko no Cha," they revamped their sales strategy and
created a truly direct sales system to the public. Since then, they have for
5 times won the highest award possible at the Nationwide Tea Exhibition sponsored
by the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Japan. At the Kansai Exhibition,
also sponsored by the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Maiko has won first
prize 6 times in succession. They have also been awarded first prize from the
Uji Tax Auditors Office 5 times for the outstanding condition of the company's
books and records.
1975
Maiko
established a branch office in Muroran City on the island of Hokkaido, Japan.
1998
Maiko Tea created a teahouse
and cafe called "Maiko Cha Boutique," which is located in the center
of Kyotanabe.
2000
Maiko
developed their exclusive line of pure powdered tea in capsules (Pure Maccha Capsule).
Because
of the first prize awards given by the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry at
nationwide tea exhibitions, the city of Kyotanabe, the locality of Fugenji, and
Maiko Tea Company became known throughout all of Japan as producing the highest
quality Gyokuro Green Tea.
2007
